Pregnancy Belly Casting

Step 1.  Before beginning the actually plastering, cut a variety of lengths of the plaster strips to ensure you are able to cover all the different areas of the belly.

Step 2.  Spread a thin layer of the petroleum jelly on the area to be plastered.  Be sure that it is covering all areas, so the plaster doesnt stick to the skin.

Step 3. Place strips of plaster in the container with water, squeeze excess water off the strip, and begin placing on area to be plastered.  Keep Repeating, until entire area has been covered with atleast 3 overlapping layers…

Step 4.  After all layers have been placed, wait until the plaster is completely hardened.  Once it is hardened, slowly begin pulling the casting off the body until it completely comes off…

Step 5. Once the casting is off the body, allow 24 hours for the plaster to sit before painting (that way you know for sure that the casting is completely hardened).

Step 6. Trim the outter areas of the casting to ensure a clean look.

Step 7.  Paint as desired (I’m painting this weekend in a jungle theme, there will be a monkey, a hippo, an elephant, and giraffe.) In girl colors for my sister’s little girl Kayelee!!!
